Smart IT is a rapidly growing multi-award-winning technology services company based in the Team Valley, Gateshead. We provide IT and Telecoms services to hundreds of businesses within he North East and Yorkshire.
A vacancy has become available to join our finance team as a bookkeeper. You will be working as part of a small team managing the accounts for the Smart IT group of companies.
The Role
- Responsible for posting all transactions into Quickbooks and Xero Online Accounts software
 - Credit Control / Chasing overdue accounts
 - Input Supplier Invoices & Credits
 - Ability to do monthly bank reconciliation
 - Production of monthly management information.
 - Monthly payroll
 - Submit Quarterly VAT returns
 - Other basic admin duties
 
The Person
- Good numerical and verbal reasoning
 - Must be proficient in Quickbooks and/or Xero Online Accounts software
 - Exceptional organiser
 - An excellent telephone manner
 - Be able to take responsibility keeping accounts up-to-date
 - Team worker
 - Proficient skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
 
Desirable skills
- AAT or similar Bookkeeping Qualification
 - Experience with Xero and/or Quickbooks Online Accounts software
 - Experience submitting quarterly VAT returns
 
The days/hours can be flexible, we’re happy to work around any other commitments you have, although our opening hours are Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
Package Details
- A generous salary of £25,000 – £29,000 (pro-rata based on 40 hours per week)
