Keith Moore, one of our Sales team based in our Leeds office, has signed up to become a coach at Nostell Miners Welfare FC, a local club in West Yorkshire.
Getting involved with the community
Keith Moore from our West Yorkshire team has been busy behind the scenes, becoming a coach for Nostell Miners Welfare FC for the upcoming season. With a passion for football and supporting his community, Keith was keen to get involved with his local club, which is based in New Crofton, West Yorkshire. He is now coaching all the senior teams which includes First Team, Reserves and Development – an integral part of the club’s coaching team.
A club with heritage
The club was founded in 1928, with the Miners Trust Fund originally purchasing the land where the club is located today for just £400. Despite being on pause during World War II, it was an essential part of the community and provided much-needed entertainment. The club’s return was extremely successful, with a tour of Belgium in 1950, with a trophy win to complete the trip. Later in the 1966/67 season, the club won the West Yorkshire league and cup double.
More recently, the Nostell Miners Welfare FC has been reimagined with a complete rebrand and update with new logos, branding and graphics both digitally and around the club. This was the start of a new era for the club and helped build engagement from the local community, with huge growth, including adding 5 teams to the club’s roster. This includes a ladies team and “Striking Stars” for children aged 4-7 years old to help build out the future of football within the local area.
Keith explained how he came to be involved with the club:
I was approached to join Nostell Miners Welfare FC at the beginning of the 2025/26 and it was quite clear they are very much a Community Club. I currently coach all 3 senior teams (First Team, Reserves and Development). They encourage not just the players and coaches but also the local community to be part of the football club.
The new season kicks off on Saturday 8th August and we’re proud to be supporting the club through our dedicated sponsor board pitch side.
