Today, we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on one of our outstanding team members, James Houston, who has achieved remarkable success during his journey with us at Smart IT!
James’s story is a testament to hard work, dedication, and the pursuit of one’s passion. He started his Smart IT journey as part of our work experience program, which we proudly offer to local students interested in pursuing IT careers. His determination, coupled with a positive attitude, left a mark on our team, and we were eager to offer him a position as an Apprentice Engineer.
Since starting his apprentice role his growth has been nothing short of remarkable. Throughout his apprenticeship James took on many additional challenges and has showcased his technical skills throughout. His journey ultimately resulted in achieving a BCS pass grade which is an achievement that we are all immensely proud of!

But that’s not where James’s story ends. James was then promoted to the role of Helpdesk Supervisor. This promotion recognises his exceptional expertise and customer service skills. With this new promotion James has a fantastic opportunity to further his career and skills while also positively affecting our current apprentices.
