Smart IT, together with Belmond & Co Claims Management have donated fifteen computer systems to West Denton Primary School that were no longer required by Belmond & Co.
Belmond & Co contacted Smart IT and asked if we could assist with the donation of the technology equipment to the school. The equipment was no longer required by the Belmond & Co, so rather then dispose of technology the company asked if we could prepare the equipment and deliver it to West Denton Primary School, which Smart IT agreed to do free of charge.
The computers had previously been used by Belmond & Co for processing personal claims and had a lot of sensitive data stored on their drives. Smart IT collected all computers, securely wiped the drives using military grade data erasing software, rebuilt and refurbished the computers, then delivered these to West Denton Primary School.
Smart IT are passionate about helping our local community, with many of our engineers having recently donated their free time over the lockdown period to help local charities. The company also provides paid time off to staff so they can spend time helping local charities who are important to them, known as charity days.
The computer systems were delivered to Smart IT Head Office last week and the engineers started the process of wiping all the hard drives and refurbishing the computers, ready for installation, and then delivered these to West Denton Primary School. Â

Smart IT offer all customers a free wipe and donate service for any IT equipment no longer required. Customers can choose either a wipe and return, where equipment is securely wiped by our engineers and returned back to the customer, this carries a small charge. Or they can choose a wipe and donate where equipment is wiped, certified, and recycled free of charge.
